ART from the HeART
This year’s theme of “ART from the HeART” encourages students to show how their art comes from the heart.

The Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE) is pleased to announce the
2018 Young Artists Showcase.
Pre-Kindergarten through eighth grade teachers are encouraged to submit 2D, 3D or 4D student artwork for selection into the SCCOE's permanent collection. Submissions are limited to one art work per student, and up to 25 submissions per school.
All grade nine through twelfth grades students will submit their work via the Museums of Los Gatos High School Art Contest. Please check for complete contest dates, rules and details here - Submissions will be accepted from November 20, 2017 to January 26, 2018 at numulosgatos.org/artnow/
All Santa Clara County Public/Charter schools and public pre-school programs are eligible to participate.
KEY DATES | 2018 YOUNG ARTISTS SHOWCASE SELECTION PROCESS:
February 1 – April 5, 2018 | Submissions of Preschool through 8th grade student artwork/reflection digital files accepted
April 9-13, 2018 | Juried selection of student art work
April 13, 2018 | Winners will be announced online.
April 16-20, 2018 | Notification sent to winners with request to drop off original artwork to SCCOE
May 22, 2018 | Young Artists Showcase Celebration for all grades, 4:30 p.m., SCCOE
ARTIST STATEMENT: We ask that an artist's statement be included with each submission. Students are requested to complete the STUDENT REFLECTION FORM and may attach additional pages, if they wish. Entries will be considered incomplete unless the artist statement is included with the art work submission.
SUBMISSIONS: Preschool to eighth grade works and reflections will be submitted to the SCCOE via an online submission form. Winners will be announced online on April 13, 2018 and original artwork submitted to the SCCOE shortly thereafter. Also, winners will be offered the choice of having their original work added to the permanent collection or a facsimile. All grade 9-12 participation will be via the Museums of Los Gatos High School Art Contest. YAS guidelines and submission forms are below.
