Young Artists Showcase 2020: My Voice
The Santa Clara County Office of Education announces the 2020 Young Artist Showcase Competition. This competition is open to public school students, grades Pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, in Santa Clara County. Student winners will have their artwork accepted into the permanent exhibit of student artwork located within the SCCOE office.
Theme - My Voice
This year’s theme of “My Voice” encourages students to share their voice through their art.
“The only thing that matters is that you are original and find your own voice.” - Odd Nerdrum
“The tongue can paint what the eyes can’t see.” –Chinese Proverb
“Keep making work even if you don’t know what you have to say. You’ll only find
your voice through the struggle.” - James Jean
Artwork will be accepted in three (3) categories:
2D: Paintings, drawings, prints, works on paper, canvas, wood, cardboard, mixed media, film/analogue photography. Anything on a flat surface.
3D: Sculpture, installation, glass, metal, ceramics, mixed media with materials coming off the paper, etc. Anything three dimensional.
4D: New media, video, digital photography, illustration, graphic design, photo-shopped images. Anything created on a computer, digital camera, or screen.
